Upcoming Presentation: Mark Armstrong to discuss Accessory Dwelling Units at BSA Event

KMA, LLC is excited to announce that Mark Armstrong, AIA, NCARB, LEED BD+C, Senior Architect, will present at an upcoming Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) virtual event, “Accessory Dwelling Units: New Rules and Design Basics.” The session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Armstrong will explore the changes brought about by the 2024 Massachusetts Affordable Homes Act, which legalized Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) statewide. His presentation will highlight how ADUs can expand housing opportunities by supporting intergenerational living, enabling aging in place, and offering greater accessibility for residents with disabilities.

Through a series of case studies, Armstrong will provide practical examples of ADU designs that address different site conditions and ownership models. The event is co-hosted by the BSA’s Access Committee and Residential Design Committee and offers 1.0 AIA Learning Unit (LU) credit.
