Julie is the “OG” at KMA, having started with the firm as an Office Manager in 2004. As the Director of Operations, a position she has held since 2019, Julie leans heavily on her institutional knowledge of KMA to help lead decision-making around company culture and values, workplace experience, and brand strategy. At the same time, she is solely responsible for the smooth operation of daily life at KMA, including information technology, human resources, marketing, and project management – areas that have been in constant flux in recent years as KMA has grown in size and complexity.
Julie graduated from UMass Dartmouth with an undergraduate degree in political science. After 20+ years in the field of accessibility, she has organically developed an interest and expertise in accessible websites and documents. When the opportunity arises, she assists the consulting teams in reviewing websites for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. Julie has also spearheaded the effort to ensure that KMA’s website, as well as the firm’s reports and presentations, are prepared and delivered in accessible formats.
Outside of KMA, Julie is actively involved in state and local politics, serving as Co-Chair of her Town Democratic Committee, Vice-Chair of the Conservation Commission, and President of her local cable access Board of Directors. In 2023, Julie developed a local voter guide to increase awareness about municipal elections and town meetings, and she was recognized by her state senator with a citation for this work. She is also a founding member of a local nonpartisan committee established to encourage greater awareness and engagement in events and decisions that shape her town’s governance and future.
When she’s not working to create a better social world, Julie is outdoors enjoying the natural one with her husband and dogs. She enjoys hiking, birdwatching, and learning about native plants.
