A117.1-2017 has recently been released. This latest version of the accessibility standards has updated requirements for turning spaces, clear floor spaces, and maneuvering clearances. For example, the 60” turning radius has grown to 67” (for new construction). This could greatly impact future room layout designs. A more detailed analysis of A117.1-2017 will follow.
