The U.S. Access Board has released the newest installment of its online guide to accessibility standards issued under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA). The new material covers Accessible Routes:
- Accessible Routes
- Entrances, Doors, and Gates
- Ramps and Curb Ramps
- Elevators and Platform Lifts
- Accessible Means of Egress
The Access Board has also released a new, captioned video, Protruding Objects, that demonstrates: standard cane technique, different examples of wall-mounted and free-standing protruding objects, and specific treatments to reduce hazards and to make objects comply with specifications in the standards.
